- In the Old Testament, God told Abraham and his family to go to Canaan. He also told Him that for years all of his descendants would be blessed and that those who cursed him would be cursed themselves.
- I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
- Abraham did as he was told, and went to Canaan with his wife and son.
- Once there, God told them that this land would be given to their blessed descendants.
- To your offspring I will give this land.
- YEARS LATER...
- In the New Testament, Peter tells the Israelites about how they are the descendants of Abraham and that they are blessed.
- "You are the descendants of the prophets and of the covenant that God gave to your ancestors, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your descendants all the families of the earth shall be blessed.' When God raised up His servant, He sent Him first to you, to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”
- So God's covenant was fulfilled! In the New Testament, Peter tells the Israelites that they are indeed the descendants of Abraham, and would be blessed should they have faith.
