The Stamp Act

The QuarteringAct

Townshend Acts

Boston Massacre

The Boston Tea Party

Coercive/Intolerable Acts

The Stamp Act was the way the British Government was going to repay the war debt. Any/ all Important papers needed to have Stamp (around 5.63 each). The colonist were not happy about this. So, they started protesting by burning stamps, burning things, riots, stopping newspapers, etc.

The Quartering Act was the Act that followed the Declaratory Act. When the Quartering Act was passed it meant any British soldier was allowed to live in a colonist home. Even though the British government wasn't giving the homeowners the money they needed to provide the soldiers with food and supplies.

The British thought that the colonists wouldn't mind paying tax for things that were imported/not from the mainland. So they put a tax on paint, tea, lead, etc. Along with this British soldiers could search a person's boat or house at any time they wanted to.

On March 5, 1770, the colonists were protesting, threatening, and baiting the British Soldiers to fire at them. The Colonists started to attack the soldiers and the soldiers fired into the crowd. In the end, they killed 5 people. This turned out to be a verycontroversial event.

The Boston Tea Party was the colonists' reaction to the tax on tea. They were sick and tired of waiting for justice so, they took action and invaded the British ships that had tea and dumped it into the harbor. They tried to disguise themselves as natives to cover up the fact they did it.

The Intolerable Acts were the last act that the British Government gave before the Revolutionary War. It was a punishment for the colonists because of the Boston Tea Party. The Acts didn’t let Boston ship goods in or out which affected their businesses. Along with that, they shut down all courts in Boston and the Government of Massachusetts.
