  • The Freedom of Peaceful Assembly & Association entitles people to the right to gather with anyone as long as it is done in a peaceful manner. • I would like to plead the fifth, Your Honour.
  • Democratic Rights provide every Canadian citizen the ability to vote and run to become public figures/representatives. Another rule under the Democratic Rights is that no elected government can serve for over five years; There must be an election within this time. This is significant to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms because it gives everyone a voice and the chance to help decide who is in office.
  • Equality Rights
  • Good morning, teacher!
  • Mobility Rights give Canadian citizens the freedom to enter, exit, and stay in Canada if they choose to do so. This is significant to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms because the people living in Canada should not be confined to remain in the country or be forced to leave.

  • The Rights When Charged incorporate being tried within a sensible amount of time, the ability to deny testifying at their own trial, be considered innocent until proven guilty, cannot be denied appropriate bail without reason, and can only be convicted if the wrongdoings were committed when the particular law is stated. This is significant to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms as everyone should be served justice and a fair sentencing.
  • Equality Rights give people the opportunity to be treated equally and fairly under the law no matter someone's race, age, sex, or religion. This is significant to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms as everyone should be able to express themselves freely without fear of unjust treatment.
  • Good morning, everybody.
  • The Language Rights recognize French and English as the two official languages of Canada and require them to be used in all institutions of the Canadian Parliament and government. This is significant to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms because the public and officials should have the opportunity to hear announcements and news in both French and English in order to understand what is being said.
