In 1754, the French and Indian War begins. French and Native American forces side against Great Britain and the 13 Colonies. For the beginning of the war, however, the treaty between the Cherokee and British kept them on the same side.
The peace between the English and the Cherokee is broken. The French attack the Cherokee, and the British fail to protect them. This prompts the Cherokee to change sides and fight against the British.
After the British fail to protect the Cherokee from French invasion, they change sides and fight against them. This starts the Cherokee War, a conflict between South Carolina Colonists and Cherokee Native Americans. The war lasted 2 years and was won by the British.
In 1761, the Cherokee were defeated by the colonists and the Cherokee War drew to a close. As a result of the war, the boundaries between the South Carolina colony and the Cherokee land were redrawn. Okay, sure!
Don't trade with the French!
Nope! We're still on equal terms!
Still not trading with the French?

This land is ours!!!!!!!
No, it is our land, not yours!!!!
We're sided with England!
The land is ours!
Britain! Help! Um... Britain?
If they won't protect us, then I guess we'll join you.
*sigh* Very well.
As a result of winning our conflict, we shall now take over your lands!
