Hello everyone. My name is Dakota Hernandez, and i will be discussing the Graphic Novel Maus. We have been reading this the past month. We had lots of discussions over the book in class but im pretty quiet like they say snakes are so I was not talking much.
Welcome class today we will be defining literature and deciding if this book fits into that definition.
I really haven't read the book so Dakota can you do the summary.
How should we define literature?
Yes, i can do the summary of the book.
Before we get back to our class talk for those of you who don't know, Art Spiegelman's Maus tells the story of Arts parents Anja and Vladek and their experiences during the holocaust and what is was like as a jew living in Auschwitz. Now back to the classroom.
Literature is a piece of work that has a historical or meaningful story behind it that can be used to teach others about an experience.
This novel fits in as a piece of literature because it tells a story about an tragic historical event known as the holocaust.
Wonderful discussions class. That is going to be a wrap on out Maus unit. Have a wonderful thanksgiving break and be ready for poetry when we return.
