- Around 600 BC there was a prince named Prince Siddhartha. He was never allowed to leave the palace, so he could never encounter death or suffering, but he was born into extreme wealth and had everything he wanted.

- The prince was getting curious, so he sneaked out of the palace a few times and saw 3 different kinds of suffering in the kingdom.

- On one of his trips, the prince met a man called an ascetic. The man was very calm.
- Excuse me sir, but how do you stay so calm when there is so much suffering in the world?
- I find peace by giving it to others, because I am an ascetic.
- The prince tried to become an ascetic, but his body became very frail and weak and he gave up. The prince realized he needed to find enlightenment.
- The prince meditated for hours and hours trying to reach enlightenment under a Bhodi Tree. Eventually, he reached enlightenment and became the Buddha.
- Buddhists believe in a lot of things such as Right Understanding, Right Thought, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness and Right Concentration, this is called the eight fold path.
- There are still many Buddhists today that follow the eight fold path and other Buddhist beliefs.
