- Roy has been a tenant of a duplex for a year, and a new resident just moved in.
- A recent snow storm went through, and per the contract, the tenants are responsible for the snow removal.Last year, Roy was fined by the city for not promptly removing the snow. To add to his plate, he was written up two times the last week for being late...this was due to him shoveling the driveway and sidewalks.
- Meanwhile...the new tenant, Christ, is sleeping, oblivious to the snow.
- I am going to be late for work again!!!
- Suddenly Chris's alarm started to go off on his car... Chris looked outside to see Roy shoveling snow onto his car!
- The arguing between Chris and Roy escalated to the point that the landlord ran outside to see what was going on.
- The contract states that the tenants are responsible for snow removal and lawn care...if you can't figure it out, I will serve you both with eviction notices for breach of contract!
- Chris: What are you doing! This is the second time you have done this to me!Roy: Ha! I am putting this snow where it belongs....
- Chris: Roy, I need a place to live, will you please reason with me? I don't understand why the last few snow falls you've covered my car in snow! I mean, look! my alarm is going off because you must have hit it hard with an ice chunk!
- I shouldn't have assumed from your age that you were being lazy, I am sorry. When that part comes in, I can help you repair the garage.
- The last few times it has snowed, I have had to clear the driveway, and your car is always in the way! Why can't you park in the garage?!? Or better yet, why aren't you out here shoveling! It's your job too!!!
- I've been late for work and risk losing my job! Meanwhile, you just sleep the day away without a care in the world!
- I didn't know that my car was in the way, I am sorry. How about if it is snowing when I get off work, I will clear a path, for you and I will tackle the sidewalk to the left! Then all you have to do is the sidewalk to the right!
- I should have communicated better with you and not taken advantage of the fact that you always shovel.Give me that shovel so you can get to work.
- Roy, I am sorry man! I work 3rd shift so I just go straight to bed when I get home at 5:00 am. The garage door on my side is broken, and we are waiting for a part to come in to get it fixed
