Dialogue: Daily Life in the Roman Empire

My life is fantastic, I have slaves to do my work also bodyguardsto protect me and I have fancyclothsthat cost a lot of money. 

Lucky for you, At least you don't have to work for people and not have money.

That’s nice I live in a small stone apartment with disease spreading and house fires everywhere. 

I live in a fancy house with an atrium, built with stone and marble. I also have parties at my house with family and friends.

My food is so good. When I go to the ThermopoliumI get special appetizers, mice cooked in honey, roasted parrots stuffed with dates, salted jellyfish, and snails dipped in milk. 



For our lives we go to the thermopolium to get fast food. I get a piece of bread and a bowl of beans and sometimes porridge.



I go to plays, theaters, and musical performances in others' homes. I also go to public baths on a nice chair in the shade.

Unlike you I get bread and circuses, food and entertainment to keep me busy and happy at the Colosseum.
