- Being an educator requires more than simply assigning readings and giving lectures.
- Now let's examine two different and brief approaches to teaching.
- Being an educator is being a supporter, role model, and more. Engaging students and adapting your teaching methods to their learning. Not the other way around.
- Good morning everyone! I hope you are all doing well today. We will start todays teaching activities shortly, but before we do let's discuss what it means to be an educator.
- It is 10:00 so get to your seats. Open to page 286 and start reading to page 302. Complete the questions at the end of the chapter. That's it. 
- Good morning everybody. I hope you've all had a good day so far. I thought it would be nice for us to start off class today by sharing what we did over the weekend! go ahead and get in your groups to discuss
- After that we will proceed into today's lesson on "insert topic here" and do a group activity that I think you will all enjoy.
- We will regroup shortly. Go ahead and begin!
- If you preferred the second approach, you wouldn't be alone. This approach welcomes students into class, lets them know the days plans, and involves more engaging methods of teaching.
- It can feel much easier to just assign a reading from a book, but great teachers make plans for their students that they believe will help them learn best based on their students backgrounds.
- Very different right? The first example can seem less encouraging for students. The teacher in this example does not give as pleasant a start for their students.
- Not only does the teacher in the second example engage her students, but she mentions that she thinks they will enjoy the activity. Perhaps she has taken their ways of learning into account.
- Alright enough of me talking at you. We will now begin today's activities and end presenting our group projects.
- I can not wait to see what you all put together and learn from today's activities. Go ahead and form your groups and begin you discussions. If you have questions feel free to call me over.
