- We the separatists founded the Plymouth colony. All the separatists were searching for religious freedom since we were prosecuted for our religious beliefs. Us separatist created a written agreement, known as the 'Mayflower compact'.
- Connecticut
- Did you know that puritans and John Winthrop discovered Massachusettes Bay? Well, we founded this land because we wanted to purify the church but instead, we got jailed. Hey at least we are in a better place and we can govern ourselves!
- New Hampshire
- Roger Williams and the puritans are some important people here on Rhode Island. It was sad and shocking when Anne Hutchinson was found guilty, Hutchinson, her family, and people who followed her teachings moved to Narragansett Bay. After a while, they combined the settlement, and now it's known as Rhode Island Colony.
- Native Americans
- Connecticut needed usable farmland because New England had rocky soil. Thomas Hooker founded Connecticut in 1633.
- New Hampshire is north of the Massachusetts Bay colony. They founded the area because they wanted religious freedom. Something cool is that they established a fishing colony.
- Native Americans were very nice and helped the settlers survive by teaching them how to plant corn and many other foods. The pilgrims made a feast because of their successful harvest. Later on, there was a war and many men and women died during the war. The Native Americans that remained were sold into slavery.
