- The gods are having a meeting while Poseidon is away, Odysseus is trapped with Calypso. Athena goes to Telemachus in disguise and tells him to go looking for news of his Dad, whom he thinks is dead.
- Book 7
- Hermes is sent to tell Calypso to free Odysseus, so she gives him tools to make a boat. He sailed for some time (17 days) and he came into view of an island belonging to the Phoenician's, called Aegae. But Poseidon is back, and starts a giant storm. But slim ankled Ino is here to help, she gives him a veil to hide him. He swims for 2 days, and on the 3rd he reaches land, and then falls asleep in an olive bush.

- Athena goes to Nausicaa in a disguises and tells her to go to the river to wash her clothes. Later, Nausicaa and her maids goes to wash clothes in the river. They make a lot of noise and wakes up a sleeping Odysseus. He jumps out of the bush he is was sleeping in, he scares of the maids, but she is brave. After Odysseus begs her for help, she tells him to go to her parents, and beg the queen/her mum first as she is more sympathetic.
- Book 9
- Athena goes to Odysseus in disguise as a young girl and hides him in a mist to protect him from the locals, she then gives him directions to the palace. The palace is fantastic, it shows that they most be loved by the gods. He goes inside and begs the Queen to help him get home, and proceeds to sit in the fire place. A noble man reminds the king to show xenia, and Odysseus gets some food, wine and a good night sleep.

- During an assembly, a bard is singing a song about him and Achilles fighting, so he sits and cries, but the king notices. So, the king suggests that they hold the Phaeacian games, there is racing, wrestling, jumping, discus, boxing, and dancing. Odysseus and Euryalus have bit of a fight, and a song about Aphrodite and Ares's affair. Odysseus gets some gifts (as well as an apology). The bard sings about the trojan horse, and Odysseus cries again, this time the king asks who he is.
- Odysseus starts to tell his story, after he leaves Troy with his men, they raid the city of Ismarus, but the Cicones fight them of the island. They then come across the locust eaters, after being blown of course by Zeus. They next come across an island full of goats,Odysseus spots fire on the next island. Investigation time, Oh no, its the Cyclopes! He tells Polethemus that his name is nobody, blinds him, and gets away under his sheep. On their way off the island Odysseus reveils his real name. (nobody comes to help the cyclopes as he was shouting "nobody has hurt me")
