According to a poll conducted by Common Sense Media, 50% of teens admit to being addicted to their phones. Even worse, 59% of parents say their children are addicted to their devices. This is the case for poor Albert and Timmy.Albert, Timmy's heartbroken father, has struggled to connect with his son for years. Only for Timmy to shut him out in favor of his phone.
Linda, Timmy's adoring mother, says she feels "helpless and devastated that her sweet baby boy would choose an inanimate object over his own family." She just wishes that Timmy would see the issue and take steps to cut back on his screen time. Similar to how 37% of teens report cutting back on their cell phone use. But alas, it has yet to happen.
This seems to be the unfortunate reality for many families. But it doesn't have to be for yours. Research the signs of technology addiction and educate your family about the dangers of it. You can take control of this situation and stop your child from becoming addicted before it's too late.https://www.cnn.com/2016/05/03/health/teens-cell-phone-addiction-parents/index.html
