  • "Woof! Big fields are perfect for a play day! I can't wait to run around in the flowers!" says Cooper.
  • "No flowers!?" Cooper says, disappointed.Adriana notes, "This boring field has put my playful puppy to sleep!"
  • "Let's go somewhere else," Adriana says as Cooper is four paws ahead of her.
  • "Wow! It's been so long since I've been in this plain field! Look at all the flowers!" Coopers says. "How did that happen!?"
  • "Photosynthesis allowed the plants to grow. They use carbon dioxide (that we breathe out), sunlight, and rainwater." She explains, "H2O is the light-dependent reactant that takes place in the thylakoid membrane. It produces oxygen waste. CO2 is the light-independent variable that makes glucose (food for energy.) This happens in the Stoma."
  • "But, wait!" Cooper barks. "One more thing. Why are the plants green?" "An organelle called chloroplasts reflects green light onto our eyes. This is where photosynthesis happens. Chlorophyll gives the plants a green pigment.""Wow! I'm glad I don't have chloroplasts. It would be weird to have a green golden retriever. I would be a green retriever!"
