- Ra would rise in the morning combined with the god Horus to become Ra horakhty, the morning star.He would come in the form of an eagle.The sun rising would represent the ressurection/rebirth of Ra.

- Ra traveled through the skies/heavens shining his bright light on all of egypt for 12 hours allowing the world to thrive.His solar barge was known as the Mandjet during the day.
- In the afternoon Ra would combine with Amun to become the noon day sun and in the evening he would combine with Atum to become the evening sun.By the time the sun was going down, the sun god had grown old and had reached the end of his life cycle.
- As the night would fall, Ra would travel into the underworld on his barge now know as mesektet to cast his light apon the dead.He would come across many enemy monsters that would try and stop him from rising over earth again which would kill humanity.Most of the time he would find himself being attacked by Apophis a giant serpent.After defeating his enemies he then would then join with the god orsiris to regenerate and rise again to restart the process of creating day and night .
