- Growing up I was known as the unathletic kid who didn't play any sports but volleyball seemed to catch my attention and with an open gym around the corner I gave it a try..
- Volleyball Open Gym August 15!
- I went to the open gym the school was hosting and tried playing but ended up failing numerous times. The coach noticed my need for improvement and started to dedicate all her free time to help me get better.
- The more I played, the quicker I got better and overcame my fear of sports. I even gained a friend named Anna. Everything seemed to be going right, but there was one small problem. A player on my team by the name of Jackie. She hated me because she saw all the improvement and help I was receiving.
- I began dedicating more time to volleyball and getting better while others were praying that I would fail. Our first game was just around the corner and I was super nervous even though I have been conditioning for a couple of weeks. Finding out they were one of the best conference teams didn't help either.
- After a tough battle, we managed to pull through and win the game. This wasn't the only reward but I learned how to bump, set, and spike. I learned to play volleyball. The game came to an end and I can remember all the people astonished by my improvement and it made me feel good about myself.
- After a while I realized I wasn't just enjoying the sport but I was also really good at it. By the end of the season I had played with enough experience and I learned how to play.
