- She was born on september 3,1920 in the province of Grau which is in the department of Apurímac. She was a Peruvian lyricist, singer-songwriter and folklorist. For this reason she composed and wrote a large number of songs of Creole and Afro-Peruvian music, as well as poetry and theater and film scripts.

- She also formed a trio in 1940 together with sisters Martha and Rosario Gibson. During those years she worked as a secretary, but without ever leaving her love of music, she was always very resonsible in this both aspects. She also joined the Association of Amateur Artists, in which she practiced theater and opera.
- In 1942, in Lima she married with the Brazilian soldier Enrique Demetrio Fuller da Costa, with whom she had three children. Who was never very dedicated to his wife because he never gave her the support she needs to continue with her musical career, so her married life was brief.
- With almost 30 years she began to compose his own songs. Her artistic life went through three musical stages: a first stage with the evocation of an old and traditional Lima as inspiration, passing through a stage of commitment to the social theme song, until the final stage of influence and rescue of Afro-Peruvian music.
- Unfortunately Chabuca Granda died due to complications after her heart operation on March 8, 1983 in the early morning. his death left a great impact on the Peruvian people.
