Hi Sam, I would like to ask is it okay if you explain the 6 idea development to me. I'm quite having a hard time focusing when the teacher is discussing earlier.
Yeah, sure! Well, let's start with the General to Particular. It is when the writer starts with the GENERAL IDEA stated in the topic sentence. Then, it is elaborated through each specific detail.
Ohh so based on it's name it's just like a normal cause and effects
Next is Cause Effects- This pattern of idea development explains the causes or the effects ofsomething. When a writer presents reasons, he or she is explaining the causes. Whena writer explains the results, he or she is explaining the effects.
No thank you, It's clear as Crystal.
Another this is the Claim and counterclaim idea development. This relates to the structure of presenting an argumentation side of a topic. A claim is the author's position on a topic that is supported by evidence and logical reasoning. In addition, the writer gives the counterclaim or opposing viewpoint on an issue in order to debunk it using evidence and logical reasoning. Is it clear or should i elaborate more?
Oh i know this one. It is when the writer/author identifies a problem and addresses it by presenting one or more solutions. I think the grammatical signals that can be used are because, as a solution. another way etc.
Is that so? then i guess we can move on to the problem-solution part.
That's correct. I believe we may now go to the final idea development, Persuasion. This allows the writer to share their opinions on a specific topic in order to persuade or convince the readers to believe in anything. It is most likely dependent on opinion and emotions.
