- We start with the Maya's moving from Kazakhstan to Seattle, United States because they not have to much money so the aunt recommended her parents to move to there.
- Climax
- Maya is sad because she doesn't think her dad give her permission to go to the spring fling because her parents are so strict to permit she go and also they don't understand the United States culture.
- Falling Action
- Maya get called by the school principal's because her brother Nurzhan get in a fight with and another kid because the other kid was bullying because Nurzhan don't spelled English well words, so Maya lies for him.
- Resolution
- Nurzhan discovers that Maya tries to go to the school dance and tries to convince her parents to let her go. Her parents accept but with the condition of Nurzhan being Maya's chaperone in the dance.
- Maya go to the party and starts dancing with Daniel ( his crush ). Nurzhan leaves the party for while, so Maya get more privacy. Maya's mom give her a gold necklace, with that now she expresses that its now understanding the customs of United States.
- Finally Maya arrives to her home, thinking about the great night she pass in the dance. She thanked Nurzhan for help her that night.
