  • Oh, Good Morning. You can wait in the room across the hallway; a doctor will shortly be there.
  • Thank You
  • Good Morning; I came to get the vaccine. Where do I go?
  • Finally, the body recognizes how to attack a future infection, and the risk is less harmful if contracting Covid-19. But, most importantly, it does NOT give someone covid or have the covid virus in any way.
  • Hey, I'm doctor Lewis! Are you ready to get the vaccine?
  • Ohhh, I can help you understand them if that is what you need!
  • I am; I just have some questions about it. Just recently, while at school, I learned about the RNA vaccines, and I'm still a little confused about it.
  • As you may know, mRNA vaccines are new vaccines that help with the protection against contagious diseases, just like Covid-19.
  • For instance, the vaccine, in a way, teaches our cells how to make protein, and it gives benefits to those vaccinated since it gives us protection against the outgrowths of getting sick with Covid-19, which is prevention for the disease.
  • The vast majority of vaccines have an inactivated germ that is embedded into our bodies, but mRNA vaccines don't have that. Instead, the mRNA vaccines help the cells to make a protein or teaches them how to make it.
  • How does it work when getting the shot?
  • It triggers the immune system or response inside our bodies, and it starts producing antibodies that would help us defend against the actual virus if it enters our bodies.
  • GOT IT!
  • Well, you would receive it in the upper arm muscle, and when the mRNA is in the system (immune cells), they will start making the proteins we talked about. After this, the cells would break them and get rid of them. Then, later, the cell would have the protein on the surface, and the system would begin making antibodies.
  • Yes! I am clear now; I can have it. Thank you so much!
  • Now, are you ready to have the vaccine? Did I help you?
