- Harmartia: The hero's flaw that leads to his downfall.Simba's guilt and sorrow for losing his father and blaming it on himself is his downfall. He refuses to return to the pride lands because the fear of getting rejected by his family.
- Hubris: A hero's extreme pride and disrespect for the natural order of the world.The natural order in this world is that Simba is supposed to become the leader of the pride Lands, however, he refuses to take that position.
- I WONT GO BACK!
- Peripeteia: The hero's experience of a reversal of fate or fortune.Simba goes back to the pride lands to face his uncle, Scar, and finds out that he is actually the one who killed Mufasa. Simba defeats scar and reclaims the Pride Lands
- Anagnorisis: The moment when the hero makes an important discovery.Simba discovers that his father is dead after a herd of wild beast trample him
- Nemesis: the unavoidable fate of the hero, usually caused by his own hubris. As fate may have it, a friend from Simba's past, Nala, comes and finds him in the jungle and convinces him to come back and claim the throne, even though he doesn't want to. This is a decision he was unable to come to on his own, and would not of happened had it not of been for his refusal of the natural order
- Catharsis: The audience's feelings of pity after Mufasa is killed and Simba thinks it is his fault though it is not. It is Scar's fault
