- The Acadians were herded into big waiting ships to take them to the 13 colonies or to France! Some Acadians even escaped to New France! Many people had been separated from their family! The British had started to burn the Acadian's homes right in front of them!

- Many people had died on the ships. They were infected by diseases like small pox, scurvy and measels. Some even died from starvation and at least one ship sank!
- When the Acadians got to the 13 colonies, there was no one to welcome them, the British didn't tell anyone that the Acadian refugees were arriving there! Some people lived in the English territories, but some managed to seek refuge in Lousiana with French people of their kind!
