- This is the scene where Lyddie was facing the bear in order to protect her family. This is a Person vs Nature conflict because Lyddie, a person, is facing a bear who is apart of nature
- This is the scene where Lyddie comes back after taking a trip home without the mistress premison, she only got Triphena´s permission. This is a Person vs Person conflict because Lyddie, a person, is facing the mistress who is another person.
- This is the scene where Lyddie goes home after a year working in the tarven and find a strange man named Ezekial in her house. This is a Person vs Society conflict because Ezekial is a runaway slave so he is breaking the law of the south by having runaway.
