- Dan: Hey Samantha! Do you mind teaching me why I should pay my credit card bills on time. Everyone is telling me I should but I don't see whats wrong with not paying it off.Samantha: Paying your credit card bills on time is very important. When late credit card payments lower your credit score, your insurance rates could increase when it's time for your renewal. Sending your credit card payment on time helps you get the lowest insurance rate and therefore helps you save money.
- Dan: It affects your credit score? What does your credit score do?Samantha: A credit score is based on credit history. For example number of open accounts, total levels of debt, and repayment history. Lenders use credit score to evaluate the probability that an individual will repay loans in a timely manner.
- Dan: So if I pay my credit card bills on time my credit score will go up which means that I will have better things to buy and rent.Samantha: Exactly! It's always good to pay credit bills on time. Plus if you pay them off on time you wont have to worry about them later which relieves a lot of stress.
