- Gilgamesh weeps over the death of his best friend, Enkidu, who has been cursed with death from sickness.
- Noooo, Enkidu!
- Once Gilgamesh passes through the mountains, he meets SIduri, the maker of wine. He tells her he fears death and does not want to accept it, but Siduri tells him otherwise.
- You will never find the life you are looking for! Live life to the fullest while you can.
- I am looking for eternal life.
- Gilgamesh faces the dreaded Man-scorpion who guards the great mountain, Mashu, unfazed. The Man-scorpion prolcaims that Gilgamesh must be 2/3 god and 1/3 man.
- If you wish to continue, you must go through the 12 leagues of darkness!
- I must embark, through sorrow and pain on this journey.
- Utnapishtim tells Gilgamesh how he has obtained eternal life, and gives Gilgamesh a challenge. If he can stay awake for 6 days and 7 nights, he will be given eternal life. However, he fails.
- It seems that sleep has drifted over you!
- Utnapishtim tells Gilgamesh a secret, that in a river lays a flower that holds the power to eternal life. Gilgamesh goes for the flower and attains it.
- AH YES! I have found the flower of eternal life.
- While Gilgamesh is bathing near a well, a serpent comes and takes his flower of eternal life and consumes it. Gilgamesh sits down and weeps, for he has ended his journey with nothing.
- Stop! Noooo! My flower!
