Chapter 2 : Newton's 2nd Law
Tommy and Spot are on their way to the park to play catch. When Spot starts running Tommy is jerked by the leash and pulled along as they both run.
Chapter 3 : Newton's 1st Law
When Tommy threw the ball, it bounces off the ground. Spot runs and jumps for it.
Chapter 3 : Newton's 1st Law
Tommy threw the ball as far as he could. Spot easily catches the ball in his mouth.
The second law of motion explains that the harder or softer Tommy throws the ball, the farther it will go.
This time, the ball landed on the picnic table and wouldn't move. Spot couldn't reach it. Tommy had to get it.
Remember-an object will not stop or go without another force stopping or pushing it.
As the sun was setting, Tommy threw the ball one more time. Spot was worn out and did not feel up to one more catch. With Spot not there to catch the ball, it rolled closer and closer to the woods.
