- The three witches circled around the cauldron to chant spells and added bizarre ingredients to the cauldron by which they could call up spirits from the dead.
- MACBETHACT-IV
- Double, double toil and trouble. Fire burn, and cauldron bubble!
- Macbeth went to meet the witches again and asked them to foretell his future. So, the 3 witches called three infernal spirits.
- Macbeth shall never vanquished be, until great Birnam wood to high Dunsinane hill shall come against him.
- Be bold and resolute and scorn the power of men, for there is no one born of woman in an ordinary way who can harm you.
- Macbeth! Macbeth! Macbeth! beware Macduff! beware the Thane of Fife!
- As Macbeth was returning from the cave, he met Lennox, one of his nobles, who gave him a message which made him furious.
- Macduff has fled to England.
- Macbeth attacked Macduff's castle and killed his family.
- Macbeth and his wife gained nothing by their bloody and violent acts, but only turned the nobles in hate against them. Many deserted the king's standard and joined the advancing army of Macduff and Malcolm.
- Macbeth's position was now desperate. His mind was now tortured by his evil deeds and he had advanced so fast on the path of crime that he could not draw back.
