- It seems fine to me, but alright. 
- At the end of this chapter The Ambush the author shares that at times he forgives himself and sometimes he doesn't for killing a man. Soldiers experience a lot of trauma and PTSD from things they've experienced but as soldiers this is expected to just be apart of the job. 
- "I wanted to tell Kiowa that he'd been a great friend. the very best, but all I could do was slap hands with the water." 
- In the chapter The Dentist Curt Lemon got his tooth pulled just to prove that he's strong and fearless which is something that is expected out of soldiers. 
- In the chapter Love, Jimmy Cross and O'Brien look at photos and reminisce over a cup of coffee .The author includes this chapter to show lasting friendship, they went to war together and many years later their still friends. Soldiers experience certain things together that creates a friendship and relationships that's on a  much more personal level. 
- "so i guess you must've killed somebody."
- In the chapter Field Trip, O'Brien takes his daughter Kathleen to the site of Kiowa's death and he realizes that after war and everything he had experienced on that field he will never be the same. The realization and trauma that soldiers experience when they've nearly faced death can be a painful experience and scar them for a lifetime. 
- In the chapter The Ghost Soldiers, O'Brien explained how he was shot twice and was seeking revenge on Bobby Jorgenson for being incapable of treating him. Revenge is something that a lot of soldiers are driven by and anger and violence and have trouble channeling their negative feelings into something positive.  
- Also in the chapter Ambush the author shares that Kathleen (his daughter) who was nine at the time asked him if he's ever killed somebody. Things like this can be painful for soldiers and cause them PTSD. Killing someone else, even if they were trying to kill you, can be a very traumatic experience and that's also a side of him that i'm sure he doesn't want his daughter to see.
