- Hey Rachel this is my solar eclipse group would you like to be apart of it?
- Hey Becky what's going on here?
- Okay now we will go around and say one our name.
- Okay, My name is Susan Willis.
- And my name is Rachel Muchabuff I'm Becky's sister.
- And my name is Tenay Abau.
- Okay now me last. The very first solar eclipse happened on July 28 1851. Solar eclipses are more rare than lunar eclipses because they are only visible from a narrow path across the earth.
- Now we will go around and say one or two things about solar eclipses.
- Okay me first, A solar eclipse is when the moon goes in between the sun and the earth and blocks the suns light.
- Okay me now, The moon directly between the earth and sun making a shadow on earth. The shadow made by the moon is called umbra and people in the path of the umbra see the total solar eclipse.
- When there is a solar eclipse thee is a ring around the sun called the corona. The ring of light from the corona is part of the sun's atmosphere and it always there but we can't see it because of the sun's bright light.
- There's going to be a solar eclipse soon at 7:00pm would you guys like to watch it together?
- Yes of course!
