  • The issues inside labor were the facts of low wages, dangerous working conditions, and also harsh work hours. Wilson, started supporting workers compensation, child labor laws, and 8 hour workdays for railroads. The people solved this problem through Roosevelt, who made The Square Deal happen, and Wilson, who became reluctant Progressive. This caused the American Federation of Labor to increase the membership of who can support it.

  • The issues with Immigration and Urbanization were the overcrowding of cities with people looking for better jobs and lives for their families. They were put in unhealthy and the government was forced to fix the issue with overcrowding and unhealthy living conditions. Jacob Riis took photos he shared with the public,. Without his photos the government might not have ever seen these harsh conditions to be able to fix them.

  • Women during this time were meant to stay home and take care of things at the home. They had no say in working or politics because men was suppose to go out and work. However, during WW1 women took up a lot of open spots in factory because the men were off fighting. Hundreds of women came to protest low wages, dangerous working conditions, and refusal to recognize their union. The WTUL help the women's strike and the birth control movement also occurred as meas of social change. The 19th amendment was passed by congress to all women right to vote. Without the WTUL, women desiring more, strikes, Margaret Sanger, Wilson giving his support to suffrage, movement would not have been able to gain their rights they deserved.

  • The Issues inside government reforms were the fact many didn't change. Wilson had refused to endorese any kind of reforms, however he needed to gain his support back through reluctantly accepting progressivism. He started to cultivated the union labors, farmers, and social reformers. However, people was left out during the progressive movement. This took a lot of tine to fix and to work on.

  • The issues inside Prohibitions is the war was a huge boost to the crusade to ban alcohol. By 1917, prohibitionists had convinced 19 states to ban alcohol. Liquor's opponents argued that banning alcohol would make the democracy powerful. The 18th amendment pass through congress and quickly came into effect, which cause the up-rise of speakeasies and many other high tensions from the people who wanted to keep their alcohol. the amendment had a lack from the public with agreeing to it and it eventually went away.

  • The issues with muckrakers/Crusaders is used to expose corruption of big businesses and government. Roosevelt counted many of the new investigative journalists among friends. Roosevelt criticism gave the American vocabulary word, muckraker, which journalists soon put the title as honor. The name was made after a character in Pilgrim's Progress was raking muck. Roosevelt wanted a food inspection after reading The Jungle, which told of unhealthy conditions in meatpacking plants. This passed the Pure Food and Drug Act and The Meat Inspection Act in 1906. Without the muckraking journalist the world wouldn't see the corruption of the unhealthiness in some areas.
