- All American citizens have duties and responcibilitys. Duties are things all citizens must do and are required by law. On the other hand, responsibillities are thing's that are not requierd by law, but are benifical to society. But what exacatly are these duties and responcibilitys?
- Duties:Obeying the Law: Obeying the law. Every U.S. citizen must abide by federal, state, and local laws and pay the penalties incurred when a rule is broken.Paying Taxes: All citizens must pay federal, state, local, Social Security, property, and sales taxes.Serving on a jury when summoned: Registration is a wayour governmentkeeps a list of names of men from which to draw in case of a national emergency requiring rapid expansion of our Armed Forces.Registering with the Selective Service

- Voting: U.S. citizens have a responsibility to participate in their government by registering to vote and voting in elections. By voting, citizens have a voice in their government and help ensure that the democratic representative system of government is maintained. Staying informed: Citizens are encoreged to stay informed of the issues affecting their communities, as well as national and international issues, and to be active in the civic processes. Tolerance: U.S. citizens have the responsibility to support and protect the rights of others and to respect the differences in opinions, religions, cultures and ethnic groups.

- Why are duties important? Duties are important because they help discipline the nation. They help in realising national goals by the active participation of citizens rather than mere spectators.
- Responsibilitys are important as well because they help benifit the nation making it an overall better place.
- Overall duties and responsibilities are diffrent, but help our nation either way.
