- In 1788 France went into a financial crisis and was near bankruptcy. King Louis XIV called upon the Estate's General for a meeting. the Third Estate was fed up with how they were treated and told the other two estates just what they thought of their treatment. they decided that instead of letting each estate count as one vote they wanted to vote by order and be sure everyone counted.
- March on Versailles

- During the tennis court oath, the National Assembly held a meeting and took a pledge "never to separate and meet wherever the circumstances required." and in 1791 they released a constitution.
- Reign of Terror

- July 14th 1789, Bastille is stormed by over 800 Parisians inciting a revolution breaking into a medieval fortress being used as a prison
- Rise of Napolean
- Napoleon has too much power.

- October 5th 1789, thousands of women storm to Versailles chanting for "Bread!" and yelling at their queen, Marie Antoinette, making a promise to kill her if they did not get what they wanted
- in 1793 France goes through its most horrific time due to the invention of the guillotine. They executed their king and became a republic under Robespierre.
- 1799 an Emporer comes along named Napolean. He had great military success until he tried to battle Russia. People of France believed he had too much power and reformed him.
