  • Oh my! I literally don't know about my plans in the future. What will I do? Where can I seek for help?
  • Hay, I hope I am like others. I hope I can vision vividly the plans I wanted to. I can't participate with them considering that I have no exact plans to lay out.
  • I don't find a best door for me. I guess I need some fresh to take to ease my pressure. I just hope and wish that I can meet someone to talk to as regards with my dilemma.
  • 1. It's 5 in the afternoon, the bell rang as the sound of it circulated along the hallway. Czarina, a grade 10 student suddenly think about her academic track which she plans to take when she step forward into a Senior Highschool student. However, Czarina have no idea with regards to the various strands.
  • Hi, Ms. Dazaleia! I am Czarina, a grade 10 student of our campus. I am just sad and worried at the same time since I have no idea regarding the different strands we have in our campus. Can you tell me a little more about with it?
  • Hey, Czarina! Of course, I can explain the 5 various strands in our senior high school. We have HUMSS or Humanities and Social Sciences which I currently taking. Another one is STEM and it's all about Science and Technology, ABM as Accountancy and Business Management where they focus on to Accounting. Next one is ICT which focuses to Information and Communication and lastly, the GAS strand where takes on a generalist approach in preparing students for college. It covers various disciplines like Humanities, Social Sciences, Organization, and Management.
  • 2. Before their class dismissal, their school conducted a program where they will showcase their talent and tell about their certain dream job and how do they see themselves after 10 years. 
  • Good day, Ms. Castro! I am here to ask for help as to how can I choose my academic strand. I am so frustrated because I think I am only an average student and do not know where do I go. I am open for sharing my personal dates. Can you help me to decide and give me strategies for me not to regret the strand and journey I will going to take soon?
  • Good day, Czarina! So first, I want you to know that I will be asking questions and some of them are personal that would concern you and your family is that okay with you? Since, it is okay with you though, let's elaborate your skills and potentials. As what you have told me earlier, you are more interested in writing literature and having an involvement to your society, right? You better think about it. I guess HUMSS strand is fit on you since there are subjects there which can improve your personal interest. You will probably enjoying being in that strand considering your skills and hobbies. You should also prioritize your choice and interest for you to enjoy the moment and workloads in that specific field.
  • 3. After the class and the program, Czarina went straight home and still thinking her problem. She is worried about the consequences will be if she haven't make a concrete plan for the next school year.
  • No worries, Ms. Czarina! I hope that my suggestions would be a great help to you. I am happy to help you, Ms. Czarina! Don't hesitate to come to my office anytime if need more advice regarding with your dillemma.
  • Thank you so much, Ms. Castro! I will going to make plans and do an advance reading about the subjects in HUMSS so I can easily grasp the lessons by next year. Thank you for the enlightenment, Ma'am! I am now clear what my next step should be and will have the ability to vision myself a years from now.
  • 4. Czarina went outside to unwind and calm herself down. While walking down the street, she bumped into a senior high school girl named Dazaleia who is studying also in their school taking Humanities and Social Sciences. She tells about her problems about the strand she will going to take and fortunately, the lady guide her, give her an ideas and tell a stereotype of each strand.
  • 5. Czarina still does not contented of what she heard from Dazaleia so she decided to cry her heart out and went to their guidance counselor Ms. Castro, a professional social worker who can surely help her to organize her plans and choose what are the best for her. Ms. Castro provides academic, personal and career advice to Czarina. She examined and assess the potential and skills of Czarina and because of that, Czarina will know where strand she belongs to.
  • 6. After the counselling session of Ms. Castro and Czarina, they came up to a decision of Czarina whether what strand she will going to take. Czarina is glad and thankful that she came and asked for help to a professional social worker who is very kind and she fully trusted to. They eventually bid a goodbye after their discussion.
