THE FUR TRADE!

Both the French and the British fished off the East coast of Canada. they also got to meet the Mi'kmaq and began to trade with them

Phase #1

1500-1603

New France was established and the French traded with the First Nations in the area around the Great Lakes and th St. Lawrance River

1603-1670

Phase #3

1670-1760

We French are tradeing with the Fist Nations not the British

No. We British are trading not the French

Britain set up the HBC. Britain and France were both tradeing with the First Nations people. Now the two countries were competing in the fur trade.

I personally say that the French fur is a lot better than the British furs. 

Come on lets go and find the best spot to fish.  Before we know it the NWC will also be here trying to get as much fish as posible

We need to hurry I bet they are already there.

Phase #4

1760-1821

The North West company took over the French fur trade... so now there are two British companies were competing. They both moved West trying to be the first ones to get to the new unclaimed fur tradeing territory.

I think it is time we stop competeing.

MMMM I think that that would be a great Idea.

Phase #5

1821-1870

Britain got the HBC and the NWC to merge into one called the Gudsons bay company which traded all across Canada
