- The woman's family had died in communist China, she was escaping to America for a new life. One year later she remarried and had a little girl.
- Well, we are too poor to get piano lessons so I guess I won't have to learn how to play the piano!
- Her mother pressured her so much to be a prodigy, that she decided she wasn't even going to tryto learn how to play the piano..
- Daughter look!
- 10 yearslater
- A few days later she got piano lessons from one of their neighbors.
- Her piano teacher was deaf and his eyes were not quick enough to keep up with her fingers, to see if she was playing the right notes. That meant that she could play the notes wrong and he wouldn't even notice .
- He won't know if I play a note wrong...
- Well done!
- Her mother and deaf piano teacher conspired together and got her into a talent show where she played the piano terribly. Her mother was very sad and disappointed and she gave up hope for her daughter to become a prodigy.

- 30 years later a few months before her mother died her mother said,
