- Hi, I am a sandwich and this is my amazing, death-defying story of travelling through the digestive system
- Please don't, Please, Please DON'T EAT ME!I have just entered the mouth which is where I will be broken down by the salivary glands which contain a special chemical called enzyme which breaks me down.
- Im in the pharynx which connects the mouth with the esophagus. Commonly known as the throat is a passageway that starts from the base of the skull
- I am travelling through the esophagus. I am going through means of pertisalis. The esophagus is a muscular tube which leads us to the stomach
- Stomach -Red
- I am currently in the stomach where the stomach wall has just released gastric juice to break down proteins. The stomach breaks down food mechanically and chemically. The stomach is very acidic
- I am in the small intestine where my nutrients and most water are absorbed. It helps break down proteins. The small intestine is digesting my sugars, vitamins, and minerals.
