  • Act 2 Scene 1
  • Romeo, my cousin Romeo! Romeo!
  • Romeo! Humerus, madman, passion, lover! I conjure thee by Rosaline’s bright eyes.
  • Act 2 Scene 2
  • Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon. The brightness of her cheek would shame those stars.
  • O Romeo, Romeo! Deny thy father and refuse thy name.Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,And I’ll no longer be a Capulet.
  • Act 2 Scene 3
  • Benedicite. Our Romeo hath not been in bed tonight. Wast thou with Rosaline? Be plain, good son, and homely in thy drift.
  • Good morrow, Father. That last is true. The sweeter rest was mine. I have forgot that name and that name’s woe. My heart’s dear love is setOn the fair daughter of rich Capulet.
  • Romeo jumps the wall into the Capulet garden to try to find Juliet, while Romeo's friend is looking for him.
  • Act 2 Scene 4
  • If ye should lead her into a fool’s paradise, as they say, it were a very gross kind of behavior. Nurse, commend me to thy lady and mistress. I protest unto thee.
  • Tybalt, the kinsman to old Capulet,Hath sent a letter to his father’s house. A challenge, on my life. Why, what is Tybalt?More than Prince of Cats. Oh, he’s the courageous captain of compliments.
  • But then Romeo sees Juliet walking onto the Balcony, Juliet then starts talking about how much she love Romeo without her knowing he is right under her. Then Romeo expresses his love for her too.
  • Act 2 Scene 5
  • I have. Hie to high fortune! Honest Nurse, farewell.
  • Have you got leave to go to shrift today? Then hie you hence to Friar Lawrence’s cell.There stays a husband to make you a wife.Now comes the wanton blood up in your cheeks
  • Determined to marry Juliet, Romeo hurries to Friar Lawrence. The Friar agrees to marry them, expressing the hope that the marriage may end the feud between their families.
  • Act 2 Scene 6
  • Ah, Juliet, if the measure of thy joyBe heaped like mine? But my true love is grown to such excessI cannot sum up sum of half my wealth.
  • Amen, amen. But come what sorrow can,It cannot countervail the exchange of joyThat one short minute gives me in her sight.
  • So smile the heavens upon this holy actThat after-hours with sorrow chide us not.
  • Mercutio and Benvolio meet the newly enthusiastic Romeo in the street. Romeo defeats Mercutio in a battle of wits. The Nurse finds Romeo, and he gives her a message for Juliet: meet me at Friar Lawrence’s cell this afternoon, and we will there be married. Benvolio and Mercutio wonder what happened to Romeo the previous night. Benvolio mentions that Tybalt has challenged Romeo to a dual. Romeo appears and Mercutio starts to make fun of Roseline and Romeo starts a fight with Mercutio. The Nurse appears, looking for Romeo.
  • Juliet waits impatiently for the Nurse to return. the Nurse arrives. The Nurse relents and tells Juliet to get to Friar Laurence's cell to be married.
  • Juliet meets Romeo at Friar Lawrence’s cell. After expressing their mutual love, they exit with the Friar to be married.
