- Roger shows his true colors
- I can't do it
- Jack goes hunting 
- For hunting. Like in the war.
- A ship passes by
- Smoke! Smoke!
- In the beginning of the chapter, Roger seemed quiet and serious. Soon after he started showing his true personality. Roger wanted to hurt Henry. He threw stones at Henry but missed on purpose. Civilization was holding Roger back.
- Fire goes out
- Kill the pig. Cut her throat. Spill her blood
- Jack comes out the forest and calls Roger, Sam, Eric and the others to hunt with him. He paints his own face as a way to camoflauge with his surroudings. The mask makes him feel free. He even starts dancing.
- Ralph solves the problem
- /When the rest of the biguns rest and talk about plans to build sundials to tell time. Suddenly, Ralph sees smoke from the horizon from a ship. He realizes there isn't any smoke from the signal fire . Soon after fire was dead and the ship was gone. Ralph was furious.
- The boys eat
- After hunting the pig, Jack felt successful and didn't realize what was happening. Ralph furiously told Jack about the ship and Jack was more worried about the pig. Piggy and the others were furious was well and yelled at Jack. Jack slapped Piggy because of this.
- Jack eventually apologized for what happened to the fire. Ralph lit the fire again. When they cook the pig Jack didn't want to give any meat to Piggy. Simon gives some meat to him.
- Jack felt powerful since he hunted the pig. He felt so intrigued by his own story. He reenacts the killing of the pig through a ritual dance. Ralph looked at them enviously. He told Jack he was going to call an assembly. he
