  • New Urbanism
  • Yeah I totally agree!
  • I am so glad I can play and be free
  • I love how open and free our streets are now that we are more environemntally freindly we are
  • Gated Communities
  • Make sure that you look both ways before you cross the street.
  • I have to get home for dinner.
  • Greenbelt
  • Such a great escape from the city.
  • What a beautiful day for the park!
  • an urban design movement which promotes evironmentally friendly habits by creating walkways containing a wide range of housing and job types. (example of new urbanism. Harbor Town, Memphis TN). In places with new urbanism, people use less cars and use other modes of transportation, making it safer for children and helping the environment.
  • Rural
  • Um I think we're lost, there's no one out here.
  • Gated communities are the neighborhoods of safety. These communities have extra security and are usually hard to get into. Gated communities are normally very safe places for outside activities with less cars on the road and wider streets.
  • Suburb
  • I can live in a less busy town and still work in the nearby city!
  • Greenbelts are the spaces in cites that are reserved for wildlife. These are places in very urban cities, where no buildings can be built, basically like huge parks. Examples of Greenbelts in very big cities are Central Park in New York, and Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
  • Edge city
  • I love shopping in my home town, it has all my favorite shops but is still quite.
  • A rural area, or countryside outside big towns and cities. Typical rural areas have a low population and small settlements. There are lots of rural areas in California, since most of Northern California is rural and agricultural.
  • Suburbs are towns outside of big cities. They are small, and much less populated than the big cities they are outside of. Many people that work in the big city tend to live in these smaller towns and commute to their jobs in their cities. Some examples of this would be Modesto outside of San Francisco. Many people who live in Modesto commute to their jobs in big cities. The housing in these suburbs is much more affordable than big city housing. This is another reason many people live in the suburbs.
  • These streets are so much safer than the nearby city.
  • An edge city is a city the was once a suburb or rural town but slowly became more developed and became bigger. Edge cities are normally right outside a big city, but with cheaper housing. Commuters will move to these edge cities, and the town is more populated and starts attracting more chain resturants and shopping places.
