- Circe was in love with Glaucos, a god of the sea. She had given him herbs that turned him into a god because she had fallen in love.

- One day Circe came home to the news that Glaucos proposed to Scylla, a nymph, even after all she had done for him. She was enraged

- Circe then came up with a plan to use her pharmaka on Scylla just as she did Glaucos. She knew it would turn out ugly.
- Circe made a powerful potion using her plants and herbs and poured the mixture into where Scylla bathed. She had no clue what the future held.
- Scylla got into the water and instantly everything changed. The water began churning and once Scylla emerged she was not the beautiful nymph she entered as, instead she was a monster
- Circe was banned for the rest of her life for what she had done. From that moment on Scylla haunted the seas killing all fishermen who came by. Circe felt guilty and carried that burden with her for the rest of her life. Little did she know that Scylla would one day become a danger to her as well.
