- One night in the village of Ifugao, Philippines, Awiyao left the woman he loved and married another woman, Madulimay.
- CLIMAX
- Awiyao feels the need to marry again to have a son. Lumnay was against the separation. So, at Awiyao's second marriage celebration, he goes back to check on Lumnay.
- FALLING ACTION
- Awiyao offered everything he had to comfort Lumnay. But the devastated Lumnay only took the beads as they stand for Awiyao's love for her.
- RESOLUTION
- Awiyao left to rejoin the wedding celebration while Lumnay was again left alone in the darkness.
- Even in agony, Lumnay still didn't have enough courage to stop the wedding feast, so she chose to walk away from the dancing ground and away from the man he loved, Awiyao. She found herself on the mountain overlooking the wedding feast as she realized how her life had instantly changed.
- After a few more harvests, Lumnay was once again left and lost among the bean plants. She was reminiscing the love he had with Awiyao. In the end, Lumnay was still hoping and holding on to Awiyao's promise.
