- Bloody Sunday was a even that took place in Russia. most of the workers were unsatisfied wit their pay, working conditions, etc. So they made a petition ad got it signed by 150,000 people. Then in a peaceful protest they took their petition to the winter palace but then the guards there were ordered to open fire on the workers and that is exactly what they did. This resulted in 96 deaths and 333 other people wounded.
- During the march revolution (aka the February revolution) thousands of women marched on the capital. They did this because of the food shortages and widespread inflation that was happening in Russia at the time. They also wanted to put a end to WW1 because of the heavy losses that Russia was suffering.
- The October revolution (aka the Bolshevik revolution) took place on October 24-25 in 1917. This revolution was the second and last major phase of the Russian revolution. This the when the Bolshevik people seized power in Russia. This revolution turned Russia into the a communist state.
- The Russian civil war took place from 1918-1920. It was a conflict between the Bolsheviks's red army and the anti-Bolshevik forces in Russia. Although in the end the Bolshevik's red army won the war because their army was stronger.
- The NEP stood for the new economic policy. This was the economic policy of the soviet union from 1921 to 1928. It was temporary but it actually did a very good job. The NEP's main job was to rebuild Russia's economy after the civil war and that is exactly what it did.
- Lenin died from 3 strokes he got due to a bullet in his neck cutting off the blood flow to hid brain. on his second stroke he wrote a letter to his wife warning her about a man named Joseph Stalin. Due to Lenin's death Stalin was given so much power that he could say something and no one could go against it. By having this power he was basically becoming a czar which is exactly the form of government that the Bolsheviks worked so hard to get rid of.
