- Stella and Jojo see the KKK burning a cross at night. Two children, crouched behind the low-hanging branches of a hulking oak tree,watched the flickers of scarlet in the distance in fearful silence.

- Stella has to deal with a lot. She has to deal with writing, white people, Kilkenny Pond, and the Ku Klux Klan. Stella then has too choose between her writing vs her battles,
- FALLING ACTION
- In the rising action, Stella's father and Mr.Spencer and Pastor Patton go to town to register to vote. They have to take a test to see if they could vote. It took the person 45 minutes to grade the paper.
- RESOLUTION
- GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN, OVER THE HILLS AND EVERYWHERE.GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN THAT JESUS CHRIST IS BORN!
- In the climax, Stella was walking and all of a sudden, she saw the Spencer's house on fire. She had Tony go run for help. Together the colored community helped put out the fire. Some white people even helped stop the fire.
- In the Falling action, Stella and Jojo are at school when their dog comes up to them and shows them to where mama was. She was picking berries when a copperhead bit her. Stella tries to help the best that she can. Dr.Hawkwins was out of town but all of a sudden, he appears out of nowhere.
- At the end of the book they have a Christmas Pageant and all the kids are in it. At the end, Randy drops his wise man crown and the narrarator's mess up on their lines. Then, they sing Go tell it on the Mountain.
