- The Oregon Trail was a 2,000-mile trail that goes through the great plains from western Missouri to the Oregon territory. Many people wanted to resettle west to find more opportunities for themselves and their families.
- The Oregon Trail was a long journey that was difficult to handle not only for young ones but for everyone due to the living conditions that had to be amended in order for them to stay alive to arrive at the Oregon territory.
- Not only was it a long journey but it was a painful one. Many people died along the way due to diseases on the path such as mumps, measles, etc. Many also died from wagon accidents, they were either caught in and were killed by the wheel or the animals that were used as a help to transport. So many people died because of this.
- In order to finish their path, they had to travel through bodies of water which also caused many deaths because of the cold but also because many fell off. Their lack of skills in activities made it difficult to solve their problem when someone would fall in. The temperature of the water made it colder and made people die due to the lack of materials.
- Mostly farmers, but many people wanted to resettle due to the new lives they will receive. They wanted money and they wanted to be able to have a nice future for their kids. With their old lifestyles, it was difficult for them to have a secure future for their children and moving west was going to help them get a secure future.
- No matter how difficult their journey was many overcame struggles and they accomplished achieving their goal. Even though it was a traumatic experience to personally experience they had to do it just for the sake of their families and just to honor those who deceased and were not able to finish the trial. It helped them improve the way they live their lives in a plethora amount of ways.
