- The Seventh Man is the stranger to the group; he has plain looking. The seventh man looks as though he has been trying to find the right words to say something for a long time. The Seventh man talks about his hometown, a seaside village in the province of S.
- We're in the eye of a storm. My father told me. It'll stay quiet like this for a while, maybe fifteen or twenty minutes, like an intermission. Then the wind comes back the way it was before. So So I asked him if I could go outside. He said I could walk around a little if I didn't go far. But I want you to come right back at the first sign of the wind.
- Hurry, K! Get out of there! The Wave is Coming! This time my voice worked fine. The rumbling had stopped, I realized, and now, finally, K. snake, with its head held high, poised to strike, was racing towards the shore. I had never seen anything like it, and It had to be as tall as a three-story building. Again, the wave symbolized fear of being carried away by the flow of life.
- The moment the wave came before me, however, it stopped. It seemed to run out of energy to lose its forward motion and hover there, in space, crumbling in stillness. And in its crest, inside the cruel, transparent tongue, what I saw was K.
- I stayed away from my home for over forty years. I never went near those seashores or any other. I was afraid if I did, my dream might happen in reality. Yet, despite all these precautions, I couldn't eliminate the image of myself drowning.
- I lowered my bag to the sand and sat down next to it in silent appreciation of the gentle seascape. Looking at this scene, it was impossible to imagine a great typhoon had once raged there, that a massive wave had shallower my best friend in all the world.
