  • The status quo is structured with the 3 estates. The Clergy Nobility and the common people. The common people consists of Bourgeoisie, Farmer, and poor people. And King Louis XVI sits on top.

  • The Clergy Nobility and Common people gathered at the Versaille to discuss inequality. The 3rd estate wanted more rights while the 2nd and 1st estate kept the advantages King XVI provided. Each class had 1 vote. However, none of that mattered King Louis made the final decision.

  • The third estate met at the tennis court because they found out that King Louis did not want to hold any more meetings. They gathered around swearing they will not stop meeting until they have a new constitution. They raised their arms in a quasi Roman salute.

  • Louis XVI was put on trial as a traitor to France and found guilty for treason. The king was convicted by a single vote and sentenced to death. In January 1793, he was executed in a public square by the guillotine
