- Why do they replace us with other women? Do they do it for fun? I think they do. Is it out of lust? I think so. Is it a weakness?
- It is. And don’t we have passions, and a taste for fun, and weaknesses, just like men? Then tell them to treat us well.
- Gender is the obvious topic here, because I believe it connects way back to the past, and now in the present. On the slide to the left, theres a scene between Emilia and Desdemona where they discuss marriage and infidelity, and Emilia bring up a point about how women experience the same urges as men, but its forgivable when a man cheats, however if a woman cheats its considered a crime and can cause the husband to lash out angrily. On the right I chose to represent the UN making gender equality a main focus on their agenda. I like these two parallels because it shows a step in the right direction, and shows how differently this topic is treated now than back then, (even in a fictional play).
