- Oh no! I will be humiliated without jewelry! I must have something to wear!
- You could borrow something from Madame Forestier.
- It is Paris, France, a middle-class girl, named Mathilde rests at home, dissatisfied with her life possessions. She longs for nicer things, wealth, and attraction. Her husband, Loisel, returns home with invitations to a gala.
- CLIMAX
- Of course my darling Mathilde! Pick any one you like!
- Mathilde was very greedy to obtain things she was unable to afford. She was always jealous of others because she longed for what they didn't have.
- FALLING ACTION
- My goodness Mathilde! How goregeous
- Mathilde was in fear of disappointment and humiliation fo that she had no jewelry to wear. Loisel suggested that she borrow something from the friend she envied: Madame Forestier.
- RESOLUTION
- What?! Madame Forestier's necklace, it's.. it's... gone.
- Oh no! I will search everywhere, but if we cannot find it, we'll have no choice but to replace it.
- Madame Loisel begins to search for a necklace or a jewel she admires. There she because even more envious and longs for what she cannot posses.
- Madame Forestier, would you please lend me one of your necklaces?
- The gala is a success! Everyone is in awe of Madame Loisel's beauty. She finds herself amidst all the fun, enjoying the high life and the notice that she receives. But, it only makes her wish she had this enjoyment always, wish she had more to fun like this with in her everyday life.
- On the way back home from the gala, Mathilde finds that she has lost the necklace lent by Madame Forestier. Loisel searches everywhere, eventually, he decides they must replace it. All this envy, all this greed to have more from Mathilde has ended up costing she and Loisel ten years of labor to repay the necklace.
