  • Act 1, Scene 1
  • When shall we three meet again, sisters?
  • We will meet upon the wasteland after the battlefield is finished.
  • We will meet Macbeth. Mwahahaha.
  • Act 1, Scene 2
  • Where the place?
  • Upon the heath.
  • That will be ere the set of sun.
  • Act 1, Scene 3
  • Witch 1: Fair is foul, and foul is fair. Witch 2: Hover through the fog and filthy air. Witch 3: A drum, a drum! Macbeth doth come.
  • In this opening panel, I wanted to capture the gloomy atmosphere of the heath. The witches are central and prominent, reflecting their importance to the scene. Their speech bubbles contain cryptic lines, emphasizing their mystical nature. The stormy setting adds to the eerie ambiance.
  • Act 1, Scene 4
  • So foul and fair a day I have not seen.
  • In this panel, the focus is on the cauldron's transformation, so I made it larger and emphasized the smoke and lights. The witches' excitement is evident through their expressions and larger size, highlighting their engagement with their conjuring. The witches' questions and responses in the speech bubbles create a sense of intrigue and anticipation.
  • Act 1, Scene 4
  • Witch 1: All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Glamis! Witch 2: All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor! Witch 3: All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter!
  • This panel introduces Macbeth and Banquo, smaller figures in the background, visually indicating their initial distance from the witches. The witches' lines in the speech bubbles play with paradoxes, setting an eerie and enigmatic tone. The witches' recognition of Macbeth's approach in their speech adds to the intrigue.
  • Act 1, Scene 4
  • Here, I made Macbeth and Banquo slightly larger in the panel to show their increasing proximity to the witches. The witches' appearance and demeanor are reflected in their speech bubbles, conveying their oddity and otherworldly nature. Macbeth and Banquo's questions showcase their curiosity and initial confusion.
  • What are these, so withered and so wild in their attire?
  • In this panel, Macbeth's surprise and attention are evident in his expression and larger size. The witches' prophecy is emphasized through their speech bubbles, creating a sense of importance and foreshadowing.
  • In the final panel, Macbeth's and Banquo's reactions are conveyed through their expressions and size within the frame. Macbeth's request for the witches to stay reflects his desire to understand their words, while Banquo's curiosity is evident in his question.
  • Speak, if you can: what are you?
  • Stay, you imperfect speakers.
