- I just love Rome. We have all of the Italian boot, Corsica, and Sicily! Our land is fertile and we have easy access to many things!
- I love it here in Carthage! We have fertile land and easy access to lots of things. All we really want is Corsica and Sicily.

- Carthage had a fast better military then Rome. Rome ended up creating a new gangplank to get on Carthage’s boats at attack then hand to hand.

- The first Punic war was fought on water. Carthage had a far better navy then Rome but because of Rome’s enginuiety they were able to get on Carthage’s boats and fight them in hand to hand combat.
- In the second battle of the Punic wars Carthage took a different approach. Elephants! Carthage’s leader, Hannibal, used elephants to get across the Alps and to Rome.
- Rome once again defeated Carthage and partially destroyed their city.
- To make sure that Carthage never attacked again Rome returned back to Carthage. The Roman soldiers burned the city and killed most of the citizens. The citizens that weren’t killed were sold into slavery. Salt was poured into the fields of Carthage so that no plants would ever grow there again.
- To ensure that Carthage would never try to attack again Rome fought one more time. The Romans killed almost every Carthaginian and sold the rest into slavery. Roman soldiers also poured alt on the ground so that no plants would ever grow there again.
- After defeating Carthage Rome got all of Carthage’s previously owned land. Carthage was no more.
