Hi, this story is about a girl. She received news that her brother ran away with his friends (first slide). In this story, she uses deductive reasoning to figure out where her brother ran too. You will see terms like and / or, if and then, and p-q (which are variables that represent the hypothesis and conclusion). These will be used to help her understand and make sense of the situation, and eventually find her brother. She will also use different laws, the law of detachment and the law of syllogism. The law of detachment is if p -q is a true statement and p is true, then q is true. The law of syllogism is where if p - q are true statements, then p - r is a true statement. R is a third thing, p- q-r is a train of events. An example of this is, if you get a job, then you will earn money, if you earn money, then your will buy a car. In this situation p is getting a job, q is earning money, and r is buying a car. Now that you have an understanding of the topic, let's get to the story. We are going to start from the end, then work our way backwards.
You skipped school to go to the beach!!!!
